The Mediterranean Sea, with a length of 3,800 km, maximum width of 800 km, average depth of 1,500 m and points with up to 4,000 m deep is one of the largest marginal seas on the planet.

It houses species as diverse as giltheads, moray eels, ocean sunfish, rays and two types of shark: the sand tiger shark (Carcharias taurus) and the sandbar shark (Carcharhinus plumbeus) – the real stars of L’Aquàrium de Barcelona.Ī transparent tunnel in excess of 80 metres in length enables you to enjoy a spectacular walk underwater. With a diameter of 36 metres and depth of 5 metres, it contains almost 4 million litres of water. Quite the opposite, it exceed all our expectations and we completely fell in love with the place.The spectacular Oceanarium, which is unique in Europe, is L’Aquàrium de Barcelona’s largest aquarium and home to the greatest number of species. It's always a bit of gamble going somewhere new, but Eype House Caravan park did not disappoint. Site itself was very good, nice and quite and clean and staff very friendly. Ideal base for exploring Dorset, everywhere we wanted to visit was within easy reach. We were blessed with amazing weather so we spent the afternoon on Hive Beach. The beach is then another 15 minutes along - again a beautiful walk. The local village is beautiful and only a 15 min walk along the river. A very picturesque site and plenty to do straight from the van without the need to drive The facilities were clean and a generous number of showers etc whatever time we needed them. This is a lovely quiet, friendly, well maintained site with very friendly, helpful staff who are knowledgeable about the local area and more than happy to pass on useful information to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Showers and toilets are very modern and extremely clean. Staff are exceptional, very helpful and keep the place spotless. Possibly the friendliest park on the Dorset coast. well maintained and quiet in walking distance to Hive Beach and West Bay only a couple of miles away over the coastal walk. Perfectly clean, ample space, lovely views, close to everything, what more could be asked for? We are new to campsites and this was beyond my expectations In fact, it was so good we extended our stay by a few days whilst on park. We have just come back from the most magical few days staying at Highlands End. The Oceanarium is located next to Bournemouth Pier, on the beach front, just a 5 minute walk from the town centre.
